Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in the United States and is an American photographer and journalist. For more than forty-five years she has focused her work on reporting human suffering, primarily when natural catastrophes or war are occurring. Curry has reported on wars all over the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry is a journalist, television anchorperson and reporter who was born in 1956. Her best-known role in Today the program, which is the National Broadcasting Co. morning newscast. Curry's work was noted because of her coverage of human crisis that occurred in war-torn countries as well as natural catastrophes. Curry's father was a naval officer with the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Following World War II, her parents began to meet when her father served in Japan. Because of her father's work as a military officer, they moved a lot. Curry graduated from high school at Ashland Oregon. Her graduation with a journalist degree at The University of Oregon in 1978. It was her first time as a female news anchor at this station, at age 22. She subsequently moved to the role of anchor and reporter at KGW which was an NBC station in Portland, Oregan. Four years later, she relocated to Los Angeles and became a journalist at KCBS TV. Two Emmy Awards were won during her six year association with TV station KCBS.
